In 2011, Angus Reid helped create the Be More Than a Bystander program in partnership with the Ending Violence Association of BC and the BC Lions. This groundbreaking initiative was designed to break the silence on gender based violence, harassment and bullying giving individuals the tools and confidence to take action and create safer, more respectful environments.
Be More Than a Bystander
Empowering Action. Creating Safer Workplaces. Building Stronger Leaders.
A Leadership Approach to Culture Change
Rather than focusing solely on policy or compliance, Be More Than a Bystander emphasizes personal responsibility and leadership at all levels. The program is designed to:
- Empower Individuals – Equip employees and leaders with practical intervention strategies to address inappropriate behavior.
- Shift Workplace Cultures – Foster environments where respect, accountability, and inclusion are the norm.
- Drive Lasting Change – Move beyond awareness to action, ensuring participants can immediately apply what they’ve learned
A Proven Model for Positive Impact
Through interactive training sessions, real world scenarios and leadership intensive workshops, participants learn how to recognize harmful behaviors, respond effectively and create cultures of accountability.
This program has since expanded beyond schools and sports teams into workplaces across industries, helping businesses and organizations of all sizes foster stronger, safer and more respectful teams.
Angus continues to play a key role in delivering this message helping leaders, teams and entire organizations embrace their role in building a culture where harassment, bullying, and discrimination have no place.
Let’s build a stronger, safer future—together.
